Entry Deadline: November 15, 2024
What is Reflections?
Reflections is a National PTA cultural arts recognition program that helps students explore their own thoughts, feelings and ideas; develop artistic literacy; increase confidence and creativity; develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills; and find a love for learning that will help them become more successful not only in school, but in life. Students in pre-K through Grade 12 create original works of art in response to a theme.
The 2024/2025 theme is “Accepting Imperfection…”
Students submit their completed works of art in one, or all, of the available arts categories:
Visual Arts. While the primary focus of Reflections is a celebration of creativity and the arts, student artists receive positive recognition at their schools, and finalists move on to their council/region for review and recognition. Winning pieces are submitted to the El Paso Council PTA, usually at the end of November. Finalists then advance to Colorado State PTA, where Gold Award winners then advance to the National PTA round for judging. The contest happens in the fall at the school level. All students at MVE who submit an entry receive a special prize from the MVE PTA.
